Bold, Fun & Full of Life: A Maximalist Home with a Meditation Retreat

Writer: Charlotte BergmanCharlotte Bergman

Some projects are a perfect mix of fun, challenge, and creativity, and this one was just that! My client, a woman with a passion for strong colours, maximalism, and meditation, wanted a home that reflected her personality—bold, vibrant, and full of life, while also incorporating calm, serene spaces for relaxation.

A Statement Hallway

The transformation began in the hallway, where we swapped neutral tones for playful pink walls and decorative panelling. The result? A warm, inviting, and energetic entrance that set the tone for the rest of the home.

A Kitchen Full of Character

A brand-new kitchen became the heart of the home, blending bold colours, statement lighting, and lush greenery to create a space that feels both functional and expressive.

The Meditation & Home Office Combo

One of the most exciting challenges was designing a space that served both as a peaceful meditation retreat and a practical home office. To bring in a sense of grounding and focus, we added green sectioned walls, creating a structured yet calming environment. Soft lighting, layered textures, and natural materials made the space feel serene yet inspiring, while plenty of plants enhanced the meditative atmosphere.

A Soft, Textured Bedroom Refresh

In the bedroom, we embraced soft beige tones for a relaxing and cosy feel. Layered textures, from plush rugs to linen bedding and velvet cushions, added warmth and depth, making the space a soothing retreat after a vibrant day.

The Final Look

This home is now a true reflection of its owner—fearless, joyful, and deeply personal. The blend of maximalism, bold hues, and serene moments creates a harmonious yet dynamic space, proving that a home can be both exciting and peaceful at once.

This project was an absolute joy, and I’m so grateful to have brought my client’s vibrant vision to life!
