When my wonderful clients—a family of three—purchased their stunning six-bedroom, four-bathroom Victorian home in Clapham, London, they saw its incredible potential. With classic period features and a solid structure, the house had great bones but was in need of a modern refresh to better reflect their vibrant personality and lifestyle.

Bringing Color to a Blank Canvas
The home originally had a neutral, grey-toned palette, which felt too subdued for my clients, who adore bold colours and expressive interiors. Our mission was to infuse personality, warmth, and vibrancy throughout the space while maintaining the home’s Victorian charm.
From rich jewel tones in the living areas to playful pops of colour in the bedrooms, we introduced a layered, dynamic palette that made every room feel more lively and inviting.

Revamping the Bathrooms
A key part of the project was completely renovating the bathrooms, including adding a brand-new bathroom downstairs. The old layouts felt outdated and didn’t fully maximize space or function. We completely ripped out the existing bathrooms, reconfigured layouts for better flow, and installed modern, stylish fixtures that blended contemporary elegance with classic Victorian charm.
Modernising with a Full Electrical Rewire
With a home of this age, the electrical system needed a complete rewire to bring it up to modern safety standards. This also gave us the opportunity to integrate new lighting designs that enhanced the home’s atmosphere—think statement pendant lights, wall sconces, and layered ambient lighting to create depth and warmth.
The Final Transformation
After months of planning, designing, and renovating, the house has been transformed into a colourful, modern, yet timeless home that truly reflects my clients’ personalities. This Clapham Victorian has gone from a neutral grey canvas to a vibrant, stylish, and functional family home.
